The Main Event Series wrapped up another amazing season with an unforgettable final stop at Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont.  Saturday February 27th hosted the slope combo finals with the pro and amateur divisions on a perfectly sculpted course which Josh Lempert from
Snowgrind spend four days building.  The golden down rail, and down box lead into a 60’ jump, and a 40’ jump with a nice 200’ cushioned landing that all the fresh new snow brought.  The event went smoothly and riders were throwing down until a bizarre turn of Mother Nature occurred during the finals.  We know that if you don’t like the weather in New England give it five minutes… so we did.  The sun came back out and we were under way.

Shane Fortier swept the contest for the pro division winning an invite to the Burton US Open, $500 cash, and a fully paid camp session to South America Snow Session in Argentina with roundtrip airfare for his overall points winnings.  Shane took first place with a front board done proper 270 out, down the golden rail into a double back flip on the jump with an unstoppable landing.  John Murphy won 2nd place with a backside 270 the hard way on the golden rail 270 out, leading into an enormous front 9 tail grab on the jump.  Third place went to Troy Boucher who was a heavy contender with his perfect blunt slide to huge switch back 7-nose grab.  Dillon Wilson claimed 1st for the am division winning a one of a kind custom engraved 51-30 Gold Nixon watch, along with a 2011 Flow snowboard, and a ton of swag.

Lauren Tamposi made Main Event history as the first ever returning champion to win for a second year in a row.  Lauren won the women's pro division and scored a custom engraved 42-20 Gold Nixon watch, as well as an invite to the US Open, again!

The Micron Main Event visited Stowe's half pipe on Sunday February 28th with riders taking their progression to the next level.  Nick Meerburg showed us how his hometown pipe could blast him a win into the US Open Jr. Jam doing back-to-back 540’s and four solid runs of grabs and spins.
